The citizenship interview is the final stage of becoming a U.S. citizen. It is when the U.S. government determines your eligibility to become an American based on all the information and documentation you’ve provided up to this point. During the citizenship interview, a USCIS officer will ask questions about your naturalization application (Form N-400) and questions you’re required to study for the citizenship test, which takes place during the interview. Many of the interview questions will be related to the information you provided USCIS in your N-400 application. During this time, the USCIS officer may verify some of what you disclosed while you are under oath.
